Registration Information

Eligibility Requirements

Age Eligiblility
Boys and girls must be 4 by September 1 of the current school year and must live in the Eau Claire School District to be eligible for the GSRP Preschool program. Please spread the word to family and friends who have children who will be 4 years of age by September 1 of this school year.

Income Eligibility
The Great Start Readiness Preschool Program (GSRP) is a grant-funded program provided by the State of Michigan for families with children who will be age 4 by September 1st and live within the Eau Claire Public School district. There are specific income eligibility guidelines that have to be met when enrolling a child into the program.

Income eligibility guidelines are set by the State of Michigan for GSRP programs along with the Federal Government for Head Start programs. The State law mandates that any child whose family falls at 250% or below the federal poverty level will be eligible for the program. Families that fall at the 100% of the federal poverty level or below are income eligible for Head Start.

Please note that once a family has qualified for the GSRP based off of income guidelines they will still need to complete an application with a staff member in order to prioritize children by their risk factors and priority levels. Please click on the link below to review the Income Eligibility Guidelines sheet. If your family wishes to be considered for the placement in the Great Start Readiness Program.

Curriculum

The Goals of our Curriculum
Help children become enthusiastic and inquisitive learners.
Help children become independent and self-confident.
Allow children to learn at their own pace.

Interest Areas
We create distinct interest areas in order to offer children various choices: Blocks, Discovery, Dramatic Play, Legos, Art, Library, Rice Table, and Toys and Games. We select a wide variety of learning materials for each area with the curriculum goals in mind so that no matter where the children choose to play, they are learning.
